PRIORAT & SIURANA

The Priorat is full of beautiful and isolated small villages whose economy is mainly centred on wine production. It is a land associated with world-renowned wines and a lively and beautiful agricultural landscape, with the Carthusian monastery of Scala Dei and the views from Siurana as the most outstanding places of interest.

The tour will start from the reception of your hotel. with your official tour guide and private driver who will accompany you throughout the day.

After a 2 hour drive in a comfortable vehicle, the programme of the visit to Priorat starts at Merum Priorati, a small family winery in the region, where we will have a private tour with a tasting of the best red wines of the region.

The Merum Priorati estate is located in Porrera. It is a winery belonging to the Pere Ventura family group. Reception and welcome in the garden of the winery. Start of the tour. This tour lasts two and a half hours. In an all-terrain vehicle, we will go to the hermitage of Sant Antoni to enjoy the impressive views over the town of Porrera, the winery and the estate. Visit of La Plana Marjot and tour of the vineyards before returning to the Merum Priorati estate to visit the main facilities and enjoy a tasting and sampling of its wines with a pairing of local products.

The client will be able to choose where to eat. Enjoy free time in Falset or in any local restaurant on the way to the second part of the programme.

After lunch, we will head to Siurana, the last point of our itinerary. On the way we will find Morera de Montsant, a small village of houses and cobbled streets, to continue to Cornudella and from there to Siurana. This beautiful village was the last bastion of Saracen’s resistance in Catalonia, reconquered in 1154. From that period, you can still see the remains of the Muslim fortress at the entrance of the village. The houses and cobbled streets and the views from this vantage point are spectacular. Before making the return journey, we will visit the Romanesque church of Santa María and the legendary Salto de la Reina Mora, just outside to the castle walls.

At the end of the tour, you will return to your hotel.
