We head directly to the Penedès area to visit the Codorniu winery.

Codorníu is the story of 18 generations of a family of winegrowers. The winery reflects the history, tradition, passion and know-how of a family business. Its cellars in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, designed by the architect Puig i Cadafalch, were declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1976, as a key work of Catalan modernism.
To visit Codorniu is to travel back to the origins and history of cava and to discover in depth the process of making it.

After visiting the cellars, we will go to Montserrat, one of the most emblematic places in the area, known as the magic mountain. The Montserrat massif is a unique and incomparable natural park. Its rounded peaks are its most characteristic feature. Its peculiar morphology and its millenary tradition make it an incomparable reference point for many visitors from all over the world. Montserrat is the home to the Monastery, a must-see, which was founded in 1025 by Abbot Oliba.  Soon it became an important pilgrimage centre and thousand years after its foundation it is still a cultural and tourist point of interest.

There will be free time to shop or eat before returning to Barcelona.
